KMM is searching for a Legal Administrative Assistant who is looking for a new opportunity. If you enjoy organizing, prioritizing, and assisting in the legal process, please apply. Legal Assistants at KMM are part of the trial team managing and completing the non-billable tasks necessary to move a case forward. Additionally, LAAs assist with administrative tasks such as tracking CLE’s, processing expenses, and managing calendars. You will be an important contributor to the success of the firm.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a legal secretary, defense litigation firm preferred.
Must have prior experience with litigation processes and be comfortable with the deadline driven nature of a litigation practice.
Organize: Exceptional organization skills, which include time management, attention to detail, and multi-tasking.
Prioritize: manage multiple projects and meet internal and external deadlines.
Flexibility: Willingness and ability to perform additional tasks as required.
Initiative: Ability to anticipate needs and manage changing priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Mastery proofreading and editing skills.

Responsibilities:

Preparing correspondence and pleadings
Calendaring
E-Filing in state and federal courts
Preparing trial documents
Scanning and copying
Scheduling meetings, depositions and making travel arrangements.
Assisting KMM’s paralegals with follow up calls and medical requests.

Prepare and handle tracking and disposition of subpoenas or other requests for information.
Conduct research on legal issues and investigation of witnesses and experts, including social media and internet research.
Prepare affidavits or documents and maintains document file.
Prepare for mediations and trials.
Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts.
Assist Attorney at trial.
Assist Attorney in preparation for depositions.
